(i) Definition:
Hello Super Learners! Get ready to discover some really cool words called Adjectives! These words are like the magic paint in our language that helps us see, hear, taste, touch, and feel things better when we read or listen.

What is an Adjective?
- Imagine you have a toy. If you just say, "I have a toy," it's okay, but it doesn't tell us much, does it? Now, what if you say: "I have a big, red, soft toy. " Aha! The words big, red, and soft tell us so much more about the toy! These special words β big, red, soft β are called Adjectives.
- Think of a paint box full of colors. When we say sparkly blue, loud orange, or shiny red, the words sparkly, loud, and shiny are doing a special job! They tell us exactly what the color looks like. For example, 'shiny red' tells us the color is bright and glowing, not dull. These describing words are called adjectives."
Exam Bite:
An Adjective is a word that describes a noun. (Remember, a noun is a person, place, animal, or thing β like toy, friend, school, dog.) Adjectives are like 'describing words' that add details and make our sentences more colourful and interesting!
(ii) Why Do We Use Adjectives?
We use adjectives for many important reasons:
1. To make our sentences interesting: They add flavor and excitement. Instead of "I saw a dog," say "I saw a fluffy, playful dog!"
2. To give more information: They help us understand exactly what we're talking about. "Bring me the ball." (Which ball?) * "Bring me the blue ball." (Now you know!)

3. To paint a picture in our minds: Adjectives help us imagine things clearly. * "The house was old." (Okay.) * "The creaky, spooky, ancient house stood on the hill." (Wow, I can really imagine that house now!)

4. To help us choose or find things: * "Which apple do you want?" "The shiny, red one, please!"
